Ray Bradbury. Does this name mean anything to you? Maybe books only, maybe fantasy, or maybe science fiction. Do you know that he was known as Americas Official Science Fiction Writer? However, his way of writing science fiction is much more different than you can think of, if you have never read Bradburys science fiction. He combines the future world of technology with past worlds images.

An example would be helpful in understanding this. Picture that youve suddenly traveled in time and gone to the future full of strange machines and robots. You would be unable to adapt easily to that world. This is nearly what Bradbury does in his writings. Critics argue a lot on this non-scientific anti-science fiction. Wondering why? Continue on reading and you will soon see with the examples from three different science fiction stories by Ray Bradbury.

First, you should know some thing about Bradbury himself. He was born in Wauke-gan, Illinois. He was a creative child and he had lots of nightmares and frightening fantasies, which affected his writing style. He began writing at least four hours a day when he was 12 years old. He sold his first story in 1941 and became a full-time writer in 1943. Devam覺n覺 Oku »

The Making of Modern Europe

After the horrors of World War II, Europe entered a new phase. “No more war” was for many the central theme. But the political will to come together was nevertheless still too weak among many citizens of European states.

Therefore, the decisive actors were governments, not citizens for the future shape of last fifty years. It was from the beginning an organization in which the member states have agreed to establish customs union together with common policies in a number of major fields, including agriculture, regional aid, energy and competition among others.

Milestones on the road to the political integration were always related with the economic needs and interests of the states. Despite the strives of some Europeanists, the real dynamic became always the vested interests of the states respectively. However, today the institution needs to create its own history; history of a Europe sought to be united. The cultural policies of the EU are on the same way.

For the common people, EU means economic welfare. Miler claims that the majority expects European integration to bring advantages such as free travel, freedom of residence, being able to study where one chooses, being able to choose from a wide assortment of consumer goods – but the Euro-nationalistic symbolism proposed in the context of the ‘Citizens of Europe’ program (flag, anthem, etc.) has no appeal. The European Community is associated, and not without cause, primarily with industrial-economic interests. Devam覺n覺 Oku »

Mustafa started school while his father was still alive. Ali R覺za Bey’s desire was to send Mustafa to the newly-opened emsi Efendi school so that he would get a contemporary education although Z羹beyde Han覺m wanted him to attend a traditional school where mostly prayers and hymns were taught. This caused arguments inside the family and eventually a concensus was reached.

Mustafa put on his brand new clothes , grabbed his embroidered bag with the Holy Koran inside and started the traditional school, following his mother’s wish, with a traditional ceremony accompanied with prayers and hymns. However, just a few days later, he changed his mind and started emsi Efendi school.

In this way, he managed to make both Z羹beyde Han覺m and Ali R覺za Bey happy. Mustafa Kemal had to be indebted to his father for it was him who opened his son’s path with modern and contemporary ideas. However, unfortunately Ali R覺za Bey would not be able to see the success of his son Mustafa “RISING OVER ANATOLIA LIKE THE SUN.” Devam覺n覺 Oku »
